Central Unified to Host 1st Fresno Google for Education Summit

Central Unified School District in cooperation with AppsEvents is proud to be hosting the first Fresno Google for Education Summit. It will be a truly world class PD event happening on September 12 – 13, 2015.

Google Apps for Education is a powerful suite of tools that can enhance and support 21st century learning and the Fresno Google for Education Summit is a fantastic learning event to support classroom teachers, school leaders and school IT staff.

Presenters will be flying in from around the world and across the US. All speakers are both practicing educators AND leading Google EDU Experts. They will be joined by leading local Google educators to learn about using the latest technologies to enhance collaboration in the classroom and beyond!

The summit will be a 2-day event featuring fantastic keynotes and several concurrent sessions catered to all experience levels and job roles. There will be sessions aimed at classroom teachers where you get to learn practical uses of Google tools as well as more generic sessions for anyone who wants to work smarter, improve productivity, and learn new ways to use technology in both their personal and organizational set-up. IT administrators and staff can also benefit greatly from the Google Summit.

Aside from the fantastic sessions prepared, delegates will be able to test drive latest technologies on the market such as newly released Samsung tablets especially developed for the education market and even win a tablet in the end of the summit!

Looking to get Google certified? On Friday, before the summit, we will run the AppsEvents Google Educator certification preparation bootcamp which will help you complete the new Google Certified Educator online tests.

For educators, the new ‘Certified Educator’ courses are truly transformative in helping you incorporate Google tools in your teaching. Rather than focusing on core knowledge of apps, the course and certification exam focuses on the practical application of the tools in the classroom. This day will focus on Educator Level 1 with a brief overview of additional certifications that are open for pursuit including Educator Level 2, Certified Trainer and Certified Innovator. Find out more about the bootcamp.

For those Google Education enthusiasts who are experienced in some area of using Google tools in Education and are interested to apply to lead a session, the organizing committee is now accepting session proposals. Speaking is a really great way to raise your profile in Google EDU and EdTech circles.
