Beginner’s Guide to Visualizing Data in Your School with Looker Studio (Data Studio)

Google Looker Studio will make your data come alive through powerful visualizations and help your school district make data-informed decisions.

Do you want to use data to make curricular decisions but you’re not sure where or how to start? This course is for you. In this introductory course, you will learn how to clean and format data in order to properly visualize and use the data to make informed decisions. We will transfer our data to Looker Studio, a free, data visualization tool from Google. Together, we will explore ways to organize and visualize your school’s data using interactive online dashboards. You will also have the opportunity to create your own dashboard with support from an expert.

Meet the Trainer: Sam Callahan

Sam is a 2019 graduate from Northwestern College in Orange City, IA. He majored in elementary education, minored in developmental psychology, and has a reading endorsement. He is currently in his fourth year teaching 3rd grade at Kinsey Elementary in Sioux Center, IA.

He is the data coach for his building and runs a small data consulting business on the side. He loves helping people organize and visualize their data to make informed decisions that will benefit their school, event, or business.

When he is not teaching or tucked into a spreadsheet, Sam likes to get out on his bike. 50-100 mile rides are his favorite!
